Welcome to DocGenie โ what we're building and why
A short note from the founder on why we built DocGenie, who it's for, and what's coming next.
DocGenie generates jurisdiction-aware legal documents for small businesses in about a minute. Pick a template, answer a short wizard, get a PDF or Word file. Free for three documents a month; Pro and Business unlock more.
Why now
There's a whole category of "AI document generator" tools that treat every contract the same. We don't. A Korean NDA isn't a translated US NDA โ it has ๊ฐ/์ party labels, ์ N์กฐ numbering, and a different closing convention. A UK contract uses "Background (A) (B)" and "Agreed terms," not "WHEREAS." Get this wrong and the document looks amateur to anyone qualified to review it.
DocGenie was built to get this right out of the box for the eleven jurisdictions we support today โ US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, and New Zealand โ and to keep it right as the underlying templates evolve.
Who it's for
Small businesses with 1โ25 people. The kind of person who:
- Just hired a contractor and needs an NDA today, not in two weeks after a lawyer's queue clears
- Is launching a SaaS and needs a Privacy Policy that won't get them in trouble with EU regulators
- Hires their first employee and realizes "I have no idea what should be in this contract"
We are not a replacement for an attorney on a high-stakes matter โ M&A, litigation, anything where the stakes justify $400/hour. We are a way for the other 90% of small-business legal work to take an hour instead of a month.
What's next
We'll publish here as we ship: new templates, new jurisdictions, behind-the-scenes notes on how the AI prompts work. Subscribe via our changelog RSS for the structural updates, or check back here for the longer writing.
